Down With the Fourth Reich

JD Vance, Akira

We are flawed people, a people of words and images, songs and shouts. Screaming, sometimes, yes… yes, the horror.

The horror.

Humanity has its brutality. What were slavers and colonists doing in the Congo? Some depravities lost to the jungle.

America is a place in a time. We must imagine there is another future without the America we know. We live in the America of chattel slavery, we live in the America that fought Nazis. We live in the America of ICE, as I write this from a building that once housed Japanese students in Berkeley.

There are no Japanese here now. Interned in WWII, the building was transferred to a student cooperative after its previous residents were detained and taken to concentration camps. So, we are better than Nazis because we did not exterminate them?

It is impossible to live within these contradictions. The Nazis modeled their genocide after ours. Ours in the US, where we have exterminated, castrated, enslaved, poisoned, deported, racialized and vilified human beings for centuries. The same America arming Israel, strong-arming Ukraine, and relegating our minority groups to slavery in prisons and detention camps.

When Russia makes missles and bombs Ukraine, there is popular opposition. When the US makes its AGMs, AIMs, GBUs and sends them to Israel to level Gaza in preparations for the Riviera of the Middle East, we must have a level-headed debate? We must vote?

Ukrainians resist Russia. Palestinians resist Israel. Palestinians resist Israel without Hamas. Ukrainians resist Russia without Nazis.

We must not forget that hundreds of years ago, European colonizers came and settled to what is now America. There is no light without its shadow.

It is evident when we have our failings as people. We see apparent consequences of our choices, we see power hungry world leaders, pedophiles, rapists, planet killers, genocidal socio- and psychopaths running rampant without consequence.

The polite decorum of sitting idly in the presence of a war criminal must be shunned. Look down and you will see the consequences of the industrial revolution all around you. In the starving eyes of men you determinedly pass on the street. The time honored practice of chilling with your homies getting high on fentanyl. Bureaucrats stamping the paperwork of munitions development, glassy eyed robots recalling the thousands of videos of crying Gazans and blissfully paid to ignore this conscience.

Yes, this all must go. The convenience of chicken torture, the affordability of prison labor. The exploitation and extraction of the toil of those fighting to survive to power an economic machine fueled by inequity. Death is a small price to pay for the betterment of our world. For the ending of its iniquities.

Bring back the opium den.

If you are reading this while looking me up for a job, I love America! I love America! WOOOO! Heck yeah I love America so much! WOOOOO!
